The contract also includes an option for the supply of D-ATIS and ATIS to four additional airports.
“The contract is in my opinion further evidence that Combitech is the leading provider of weather information systems for the aviation market", says Magnus Johansson, Head of System Integration and responsible for ATM Services at Combitech AB. "Our D-ATIS and ATIS systems has a modern architecture that can be easily integrated into the customer's ATM infrastructure.”
The D-ATIS/ATIS systems for the Air Navigation Services at the airports, offers the ability to generate ATIS messages simultaneously for data link transmission alongside with high quality synthetic voice ATIS broadcasts. The provision of ATIS messages via data link, allows pilots with ACARS equipped aircraft to more rapidly and easily retrieve necessary weather information prior to initial contact with the Air Traffic Control. The new D-ATIS/ATIS systems will be integrated with the airports’ existing AWOS systems from Combitech.
