Norsk Tipping engages Combitech to audit its gaming site
Norsk Tipping is a limited company in full state ownership coming under the aegis of the Norwegian Ministry of Culture. There is broad political agreement that gambling should be regulated to prevent its negative aspects. We give dreams a chance – both for players and for the beneficiaries of the proceeds. Each year the proceeds are used for the benefit of local sports and cultural facilities as well as charitable organisations throughout the country.
Odd Tangen, Head of IT security at Norsk Tipping, has had Combitech perform security tests on www.norsk-tipping.no and its ancillary smart card solution.
Combitech has a framework agreement with Norsk Tipping in the field of security testing which covers a number of aspects, including penetration tests, vulnerability analyses, audits, code auditing and software analyses. The purpose of the audit process was to highlight any deficiencies and weaknesses in architecture, implementation and technical realisation. Any vulnerability of the solutions was identified and an assessment of the protection implemented was carried out. The tests consisted of both theoretical and practical items and were performed on site in Norway.
“In this type of assignment we follow a precise working method that we have developed in house,” says Combitech’s project manager Pernilla Rönn, who is also very happy to have been entrusted with undertaking one of the first assignments for a customer in Norway.
